What is it
Trackme Findme is a mobile application that provides basic tracking. It is the worlds first reverse-GPS tracking application. Trackme findme is a mobile application for gathering, storing, displaying location data and then securely transferring that data to a secure server for later viewing. Real-time, precise information appertaining to where a person, place or thing is located provides real value.
How it works
The application runs on a device which uses it’s location tracking mechanism to determine precise coordinates. Location is determined by at least one method such as using the device’s Global Positioning System (GPS) or cell tower triangulation. The applicaiton displays and stores the information and then transfers it to a central server for storage, viewing and reporting purposes. This application is unique in that it requires “Consent” to track the device in which the application is running on.
This application keeps track of the device on the device, and on the server. The application incorporates the ability to track multiple devices, storing location data locally on the device, and then transferring it to a central computer.
Performance data is continually provided to the user by noting the accuracy of the location tracking mechanism, so there is constant feedback of how well the application is performing with regards to external variables.
The beauty of the application comes in where location data can continue to be determined, stored and displayed on a map, even when there is no cell tower service to the device.
Always Available
The reality is that information transfer networks are not “Always-On” and are sometimes unavailable. This applications location data is transferred when the network is available, stores it locally when the network is not available and transfers it when the network becomes available, thereby providing location information that is “Always-Available”. Real-Time data is always stored on the device. Through Always-Available transmission,
“Real-Time” data is reported to the central computer when the network is available.
It is secure
When the application is open a user must enter a code to proceed into the application. Once open, the location of the device will be constantly logged and stored securely. The main screen will indicate to the user that their location is being recorded, and will provide a map displaying their location. This information is transmitted to a server over an encrypted tunnel, and stored securely on the server.
History
A second screen in the application is available on the device, that shows history of the logs stored on the device. Opening one of the history logs will display the full route for that log, with indicators for start and finish, and crumbs along the way.
Server Side
A full history of tracking is stored on the server for each user. Historic logs and routes can be viewed on a map. The tracking information is transferred, submitted and stored securely from mobile application to server. It is only accessible by the authorized account. Logging in is done through credentials submitted in the application on the device.
What is it for
The benefits of the application target some distinct areas. The main focus is for parents who need to track children. The other benefit is the miscellaneous tracking of family, friends and neighbors. Another benefit is the monitoring of employee or company asset locations. Sports aligned users will find the application perfect for keeping track of favorite routes or locating others that might have been lost during an outing.
